Some of my accomplishments
Volunteer work
"I was very inspired by this story, and shortly after earning my certification I began volunteering hypnosis for cancer patients at the Cancer Wellness House and other people with chronic pain.
"(I highly recommend the Cancer Wellness House for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer)
"Such serious cases can be very intimidating and it wasn’t long before I began to feel inadequate for the job. Many of my clients would come to me, some barely able to walk, some of their faces contorted with pain. I was fascinated to note that many of these people who were obviously in pain told me that they would happily live with the pain if only they could be rid of the fear and stress. I thought, '“I’ve always been good at helping people with fear and stress.”' But even then, I worried, wondering, '“What makes me qualified to help these people? I have no idea what they’re going through! Compared to them, I don’t even know what pain is!” '
My surgery without anesthesia
"A few years later my doctor informed me that I would need surgery. I was actually excited because I would finally get a chance to experience a small amount of what my clients were going through.
"I’d been informed that I had a severe aneurysm in my leg. There was no immediate danger from it, and the pain was minor, but it was bad for my circulation and it caused a risk of blood clots. That made it serious, and I knew I needed to get it fixed. The vein would have to be cauterized at the top of my thigh with a laser, which was at the end of something like a pipe snake. From my knee to my ankle the smaller veins would have to be pulled out like spaghetti noodles with a tool the nurse described as a crochet hook. I was told that the average patient would receive either a general anesthesia or a heavy sedation, in addition to a local anesthetic to numb the pain. There would also be Lortab prescribed for post-operative pain. I was told that my case was significantly worst then average, and I was warned that the procedure was considered to be quite painful. I had chosen to go through the whole procedure without anesthesia or any pain drugs.
"Only one week after the operation I was 100% better. I could walk, run, and do anything I could do before. The doctor ordered me not to swim for three weeks because of the risk of infection, but the scabs over the wounds had fallen off after only two weeks.

"Of course I owe many thanks to my good friend James Dailey who assisted me in the preparation for this procedure. James is a talented hypnotherapist, you can find more information about him here.
Bee Beard
"2010, a friend of mine who is also a beekeeper, asked me for my help with an unusual project. He had wanted to perform a stunt known as a ‘Bee Beard’. The stunt is performed by placing the queen bee in a small cage and wearing the cage around one’s neck. Then, the rest of the bees are allowed to swarm about one’s face and neck resembling a long beard. Because my beekeeper friend was inexperienced with this stunt, he needed a subject to wear the bee beard while he minded the hive.
'“Bee’s have an extremely acute sense of smell”', my friend explained to me...
'“They can actually smell your fear and adrenaline. I need someone who can remain perfectly calm while covered in bees, even if you were to be stung a few times. You are likely to be stung a few times no matter what. They can smell when you’ve been stung, and that puts them on a heightened state of alert. If the bees sense anxiety they will be more prone to sting more, which causes them to be even more unhappy."'
'"But the more relaxed you remain, the more the bees will relax.”'
"Because I ended up being stung several times while my friend experimented with the best methods of getting the bees to swarm over my face, my skills of self-hypnosis were being tested.
"Actually, aside from the stings it was an enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone else. When bees are happy, they convey a pleasant sort of affection and I enjoyed.
Memory Expert
"I have helped many people with memory issues, sometimes using hypnosis and sometimes using mnemonics.
Mnemonics are becoming more popular all the time, especially in the subject of “mental athletics”. Mental athletics usually refers to memory challenges, such as memorizing the order of a shuffled deck of cards.
More information about mental athletics can be found here…

"As of this time I haven’t trained hard enough to compete on a national level. However I do practice mental athletics. On average, I can memorize a deck of cards in about 8 minutes. My best time is 5 minutes, which is not fast enough to qualify for the national championships.
"My first book on the subject of memory is scheduled to be published late 2011.
How I beat a Lie Detector Test
"In early 2011 I was asked to participate in a study to test a new polygraph (lie detector test). Because at the time of this writing the study is still ongoing, I’ve been asked not to give out too many details about this study.
"A polygraph machine detects minute physiological changes that most people have when they are trying to be deceptive. Those physiological changes include pulse, blood pressure, galvanic skin response, (sometimes) pupil dilation, and more. All of those physiological changes can be made by the mind alone, and that is why deception can cause those changes.Self-control, imagination, self-hypnosis, guided imagery, and similar techniques can help to cause real physiological changes including muscle growth, athletic skills, immune system levels, and even those things that are tested by a lie-detector machine.
"As part of this study I was asked to simulate a crime and then be questioned by a new lie-detector machine. I fooled the lie detector, it was easy because I am adept at many different techniques of self-control.
