"I have been practicing self hypnosis since I was 12 years old. For much of my life I've enjoyed reading about hypnosis, mentalism, and the mind. In 2009 I decided to take my hobby to the next level and became a certified hypnotherapist. At the time I hadn't planned on seriously using my skills for anything more then to have fun at parties. When I was going through the hypnosis certification course, my instructor Gwyneth McNeil loaned me a copy of Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman. I loved it, and devoured the whole big book in a week. For those of you who’ve never read it, when David Elman was a child, his father was dying of cancer and bedridden with pain. One day a carnival hypnotist came to their home and spent some time alone with Elman’s father. After the hypnotist left, Elman’s father was able to leave his bed and play with his son. They were able to have some happy memories before Dave Elman’s father died.
